Investment
readiness and capital raising
To successfully raise capital — whether equity, debt or government
grants — a business must be “investment ready”.
This covers a broad range of capabilities that revolve around the
market opportunity, the business model and unique selling proposition
to realise that opportunity, the competitive advantages of the business
and its corporate structure and, not least, the people in the business
who will govern, lead and manage it to success.
We have long and direct experience at Board, CEO and management levels
across a range of private and public organisations. We have significant
investor and investee experience having successfully prepared companies
for capital raisings, including private equity and large government
grants, as well as managing investments in projects and companies.
As required, we can be a part of the investee’s team at Board,
CEO or management levels to strengthen the selling proposition to
investors, or a part of the investor’s team to evaluate investment
prospects. Examples of our investment readiness and capital raising
assignments include:
-
Evaluating proposals and providing workshop facilitation for
development of a second-round proposal for a national Cooperative
Research Centre.
-
Participating in development of the business plan and subsequent
Information Memorandum for an early-stage technology company
seeking to raise equity to enable it to bring to market its novel
energy
storage technology.
-
Being a member of an Advisory Committee for an international
venture capital firm seeking to establish an Australian presence
and investment
fund.
-
Presenting at and participating in an Australian Venture Capital
Association workshop for CEOs of entrepreneurial companies.
